INTRODUCTION

This web site is being constructed for the purpose of sharing family history, photographs, reunions, (old and upcoming), with those of common family interest.

My interest in family genealogy came by way of my grandmother. She was always my “Granny” even though Ida was her name. But! What was Granny's maiden name? This really bothered me that I did not know the answer to my question. Granny was - in my mind and heart - a big stabilizer in my life. Now I could not remember her full name. Of course all I had to do was ask my dad, (which I did). I then became even more eager to learn all about our STEWART family history.

So, here I am asking questions, (24 years later), with stacks of paperwork, books, and photographs to show for it. How fortunate I am to have had, and still have, so many family members and strangers, sharing their own family history with me on my “Genealogical Quest”.

Of course, we did not have all the wonderful computer technology back when I started my search, as they do now. Our “snail mail” was slow, (very slow), however, as us old timers know that the wait was usually exciting and the results rewarding to varied degrees. And yes, most often the results could be very disappointing also. Ok - so now back to the drawing board…..

To make my life more even more interesting - and inquisitive - my husband was adopted as a young boy. Oh boy, here she goes again with full force, not only with her side of the family, but now also with her husband’s, “now you see me now you don’t”, family. I must add, that this was an extremely interesting, plus sensitive family search ending with great results and a reunion with his siblings again reunited after (42) years apart. How good is that?

As you might guess by now, I love to talk and share my family. Our own family consists of (4) grown children, (10) grandchildren - and as of (2008) we now have (9) great grandchildren. Again, how good is that?
